The Art of trying to crawl

Bear with me here.

This is a post about how Jack is almost crawling. The next time I'll do that "proud-braggy-mummy" thing is when Jack's sqatting on a potty and I'll declare he is almost toilet-trained, but anyway, here he is ...

ATTEMPT 1

Here we go ... Almost got it ...

Nearly there ... This is too much like hard work!

ATTEMPT 2

Good start ... Legs a bit stuck ...

Down ... And not recovering.

Not quite mastered, but how cute am I??

I'm a dick

I just re-read that drivel of a description for this blog that I posted yesterday.

If you have been here prior to today you will have read it, did you stop yourself from vomiting?

It read like a blurb from The Days of Our Lives. Like footprints in the sand, the tide washes away ... these are the days of our lives - blergh!

Not sure if the current one is much better, but it'll do for now. My husband is beautiful and my children are amazing :-p

Big kids and I are waiting for Captain Jack to wake from his slumber so we can go to the park and have a picnic today. I've had 2 whole days at home and I need out!!!!

Photo's from today

Hannah P, Isabel, Noah, Jack and Hannah M

Jack, who is all of a sudden only interested in Noah's trucks! He loves the wheels.

Jack is now 9 1/2 months old and still not crawling - and I don't mind! With Hannah I was so wanting her to "do stuff", but by the third I guess you know what "doing stuff" brings!

He is my gorgeous, angel from above and I love this little man to pieces. Oh, and he smells good - his neck, his breath, his feet!!! He is just so soft and scrummy.

"Stuff" he can do: clap hands, wave good-bye, kisses (big, open-mouthed, wet, sloppy kisses - the BEST kind!) and say mumma, dadda, bubba and nanna.

I can't say no!

Well, it seems as though this is the place to drop off your children!

Sunday we had Hannah's friend, Bella. Yesterday and today we have Hannah's friend, Isabel.

And I just took a phonecall from another of the mum's of Hannah's friends ... another little girl named Hannah and she is getting dropped off at lunch-time for an hour or so.

The up-side is that my Hannah is able to be with her friends, the down-side is the mess, the noise (that high-ptched 6yo female screaming and giggling) and the fact that Noah is ostracised as being too - well, male!

He is not into Barbie, My Little Pony or playing "unicorns". And doesn't take well to the fact that the only role for him within their games is to be the "bad man", the "scary man", basically the one they all run away from!!

Jonathon will be home for lunch and I phoned him and told him to bring me chocolate, with hazelnuts. That should make everything okay.

My daughter, the cat ...

I could end up insane ...

By the end of these 2 weeks, being the school holidays!

Last week I had romantic notions of taking the kids, the bikes, the baby and the pram for a walk along the bike track, only stopping to watch the ducks, smell the flowers and just generally baske in the beauty and wonder that are my children ... BAH!

So far this morning, Hannah and Noah have had 3 screaming matches at each other over whose feet were touching whose under the table at breakfast, who really owns that broken shell picked up at the beach oh, about 4 months ago!, and who was sitting next to Jack first ... speaking of Jack - he has sneezed rice cereal everywhere, gagged on his toast scaring the bejaysus out of me and thought it would be hilarious to throw himself backwards when I was putting his socks on, promptly hurting his head and screaming!

We now have a friend of Hannah's over for a "play date" and thankfully she is sugar on a stick! Such a sweet little thing and is keeping H and N from tearing each other apart!

We will do the bike track, have a picnic, walk along the beach and get more than 1 broken shell! and I will enjoy this 2 weeks with my children .... I WILL!

I'm Baaaack!

Wow! I had almost forgotten about this blog. Sooooo much has happened since my last post!

Jack is now 7 months old and sitting up by himself. Rolling about occasionally, but still fairly stationary. No teeth as yet, but I'm thankful for that as I am still breastfeeding, and oh so proud of myself, I must say! Only got to 6 weeks with Hannah and 4 months with Noah, so to still be going strong at 7 months and no reason to stop any time soon, I'm very happy.

Hannah is in Year One and Noah started Kindergarten!!! We had so many people tell us to hold him back, all people who hardly "know" him, of course! The people who really mattered, Pre-School teacher/Kindy teacher/daycare mum/health nurse etc, all assured us he was ready.

He is loving it and wanted to go on the School Bus on the very first day! Mummy is not ready for that, yet ...

His teacher's name is Mrs. Stroud and is lovely. A real "kindy" teacher, you know, big cheesy grin, high-pitched voice and so full of enthusiasm I feel she is going to BURST! And so dang happy all the time! She's lovely ...

Hannah's teacher is Mrs. Lott and thankfully she is lovely too! :) Just not so smiley and cutesy, a bit more "weathered" !
